The Toile upholstery was done in the 1950

A SET OF FOUR LATE LOUIS XV GREY-PAINTED VOYEUSES
BY CLAUDE CHEVIGNY, CIRCA 1770
Each shaped back, crestrail and seat upholstered in toile printed with pastoral scenes, all stamped C.CHEVIGNY, with traces of an earlier grey-painted scheme.
Very good antique condition, consistent with age and use
History the Voyeur Chair.
"Sitting voyeur chair for men (women could then use only voyeurs on their knees, so they do not have to spread their thighs to sit. . The seat is arched so that the backrest is narrow and that men do not find any difficulty in placing their legs around the backrest. A padding is placed above the backrest to support it, accouder and observe in front of people seated at the game because it is originally a seat designed to observe the players sitting at first rank in front of the table.
