Description:
This bronze sculpture from Surawongse, Thailand, was sand-cast and hand polished to achieve its amazing form and finish. The piece depicts the female form in a biomorphic fluidity which evokes a sensuality and gracefulness. The piece has an incised mark of "73/1000 Surawongse" and a box with four Thai symbols on the bottom side of the sculpture (see photograph), and is mounted on a black-lacquered base. Surwangose is a suburb of Bangkok that is renowned for bronze making.
