Coppola e Toppo Smoky Topaz Woven Glass Bead Necklace. Circa 1960. Founded in 1947 by brother and sister, Bruno Coppola and Lyda Toppo. They company was in business from 1947 to 1972. It was taken over by another company and produced jewelry till 1986. The two collaborated with many designers such as Emilio Pucci and Valentino. They produced incredible pieces featured in many fashion and couture magazines. Made in Italy, most pieces were made of intricate woven glass beads. In some designs acrylic beads were used as well so that the weight of the design could be worn comfortable. This necklace consists of all glass beads woven in a looped fashion, graduating sizes and colors from smoky clear to smoky Topaz. The necklace measures about 15 1/2 inches and at the widest point, it measures about 2 1/2 inches. Signed Made in Italy by Coppola e Toppo.
