This oil on canvas painting of the 1960s was created by the iconic French artist Charles Levier (aka Maurice Verrier) b. 1920-2003 and is signed in the lower right corner Levier. Levier a Modern Cubist painter is most known for his Abstracted Post-Impressionistic still-lifes and cityscapes of harbor towns. The line delineation of this harbor towne cityscape recalls the simple techniques so frequently found in Cubism. Levier paintings are in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art, Paris, and Menton Museum, Paris. In the United States his work can be found in the permanent collections of the Atlanta Museum, Seattle Museum and New Orleans Museum to name a few. His works have been included in the private collection of Baron Edmond de Rothchild.
